Are You Ready To Study Abroad?

The idea of going overseas for university study is an exciting prospect for many people. But while it may offer some advantages, it is probably better to stay home because of the difficulties a student inevitably encounters living and studying in a different culture. To what extent do you agree or disagree this statement? Give reasons for your answer.

  1. Guys this topic is one of IELTS's writing task-2 topics. Use your chance!!!!

  2. Akmal aka if it is one of writing tasks we should write essay!!!!!!!!! =0000

Okay it's very difficult to study abroad. Because we have to live in other country in other life conditions, in other atmosphere. BUT it is also very interesting. I can say fascinating, amazing. We experience independent life, foreign country, foreign university. We would have new friends and we can become INDEPENDENT.

  3. I can say that at first it will be very difficult to live and study in other atmosphere! But man has such ability to adapt for everything! Some times later he or she will get into the way!

  4. Hmm...i absolutly agree with Madina's comment. It depend from person's charecter and how he/she able to adapt in different spheres of life! I have friends who after finishing school have moved in to England to study. One of them said that it's really cool! Now he has a lot of friends but another boy(his brother) wants to return home! But they study in one school together! So, I think that it's good chance to get perfect education and clumb at high tops in life, and if you really want to study you should breaks all barriers and reach what you want!

  5. Well,If I had a chance to go abroad, I would accept it.Because I think that it will play essential role in my future career. But it also depends on place where you are going to.For instance, I`d like to go to Canada. Because it`s said that Canada is among the top three places in the world to live in.

  6. Yeah I think to study abroad is brilliant. Whereas it costs money much more money we can think about.

    ReplyDelete
  7. To all
Which country do you prefer to study? Why?

My answer is UK! Because I think so!

    ReplyDelete
  8. Ohhhh cmon Doston why do you think so???? I would like to study there where I will feel myself well. For example when I was in Dubai I did not want to study there as it was extremely hot. You also need to pay attention to the location of the university. If it is located in big cities like London, Dubai, New York, or Mumbai, Good Lord be careful because the traffic will kill you all the way. Just recently I saw Genis world records that Sheikh Zayed highway in Dubai is the world's 2 busiest highway. I remember when I spent 2 hours for 15 mins journey those days.

I agree with Irina too that it is a different experience for everyone. Just be prepared to fight THE MISSING illness. I used to miss everything when I was abroad. Even Tashken's endless bumpy roads.

Good news is that those Global Universities are coming to our city every year. This is not only good news for students, it is also good for the country as a whole. How many students who went abroad to study, decided to stay there and develop their society and economy instead of their own. This is called A Brain Drain. Utechka Mozgov!!!!

Another good news is that you get one and the same diploma for a lot more cheaper price.

    ReplyDelete
  9. Have you ever thought about on-line or distant education????

    ReplyDelete
  10. Do you know??

Nowadays, many people are trying to get higher diplomas by distant education services in Tashkent city, but most of them are not registered by government, that’s why many on-line university branches are being kicked from Tashkent city !

    ReplyDelete
  11. Really??? I did not even know about such kind of Universities here in our city. Can you give us some their names Azimjon? Thanks! :--)))

    ReplyDelete
  12. What do you guys think about international universities that are coming to Tashkent and opening their branches? Do you think it is good? Or do you anyway want to go abroad to study and continue your professional life out there? What is the best option for you?

As for me it is really great! Why? Because it is a lot and lot cheaper and you get the same international diploma that students get in USA or UK, let's say. So why to be away from your friends and family while you are studying?

    What is your opinion????

    ReplyDelete
  13. By the way! Don't think that I am advertising or marketing our WIUT because I am not. I truely believe this is really great as another option to get higher and international education and diploma for a lot cheaper price. Not everybody can afford paying about 15,000 $ for one semester or year, let's say.

And I am saying this after leaving abroad for 1.5 years guys. This is not really easy!

    ReplyDelete
  14. In my opinion it's very good that we have such universities as WIUT? because not all parents let their children. But they said that the knowleges that we can get In London are much deeper and stronger.study abroad it's a big expierence and sometimes not everybody can endure.OFCOURCE your motherland is mother land and you'll miss everithing wich is bound with it.

    ReplyDelete
  15. Well Akmal aka the issue is not diploma we're talking about education isn't it. Anyway it is really good that in Tashkent we have WIUT, MDIS (Singapore) and Turin polytechnic universities. But if we study abroad we can achieve more things than here. We would experience life abroad, new style of life, new friends and we would travel and of course we would get really good education. I think it is rather good than here. I should say that it is more expensive than our WIUT, MDIS universities. Thus it is disadvantage.

Anyway guys what do you think about MDIS (Management development institute of Singapore). Can this institute compete with Westminster? I heard that MDIS more better??

Akmal aka I'm sorry if I wrote some kind of nonsense.

  17. Doston it is not a nonsense at all but just be careful as I don't want two universities to have an argument and conflict because of our blog. At the end of the day I may get into trouble with them. Society already knows that WIUT has already become a well-known brand in Uzbekistan. Perhaps MDIS will outrun WIUT in the future but time will show everything.

Now just remember that some of the cadres, who are working and running MDIS these days, are graduates of WIUT and learnt quite a lot of deal by being a part of WIUT.

    ReplyDelete
  18. Yeah Doston you are right as regards to national and international universities in our country. IELTS is defenelitely helping here and it is fair right? If you want to enter national universities you need to be too smart or too stupid. Pass scores (prohodnoy ball) jump up and down every year and as a student you don't really know how to get prepared. You don't know what strategy works best. And as a teacher we also don't know how to prepare our students and what strategy to use.

    ReplyDelete
  19. Doston sorry that I did it without asking you. This is your comment and it was under a wrong topic. I decided to post here using your name. Hope you forgive me. Please!!! :--)))

Yeah I think you're right. Thank you. I wanna mention that anonymous person who wrote about IELTS. Well I think IELTS is something which we can trust anyway. And it is much easier to apply universities such as wiut, mdis and bla bla.

Our local universities require too much. For example Institute of Oriental languages, we should pass exam for some oriental language (or english) and after entering we learn this language from beginning. And what is the point, we know this language and why we should learn it again :-( Also such kind of things make me upset you know.

    ReplyDelete
  20. I full agree with Doston that study abroad is a great expierence!

    ReplyDelete
  21. I full agree with MADINA too!

    ReplyDelete
  22. ^_^Madina agree with Doston,Azimjon agree with Madina...So I also agree with Doston. But I think it will be better if we study there in Uzbekistan.Because as Akmal aka said we`ll be closer to our family.Unfortunately there are some obstacles to enter University. For instance,I`m a student of lyceum and I always think how to enter University.I ask such questions Can I enter national universities? or Can I get good mark from IELTS? to myself. But I know that pass scores(Prohodnoy ball) of our national universities are very high and I can`t enter them. That`s why I`m preparing for passing IELTS and I`m going to enter MDIS or such kind of universities.

  23. Doston yes diploma is not an issue and education matters most. But in order to gain knowledge you don't have to travel all the way to Europe or USA. I know some people in my life who spent a year or 2 in USA or other developed countries and still work and think in old-fashioned Uzbek way. They are also not competent enough in their own field. And I say to myself "Good Lord this guy has a MA degree and spent 2 years out there but why on the earth he/she doesn't work properly and act in a more open-minded and knowledgeable manner".

I think it is all about you. If you want to learn smth you can learn it in anyway by self-study, exposing yourself to moments of open and constructive feedback and criticism. As for me learning is not a destination that you work hard for and sit to drink a cup of tea when you achieve your goal. It is continuous process that never and never ends or should never end. So never stop learning. Sometimes you can learn a great deal by sitting with someone and listen to what he/she got to say or seeing how one person does smth.

As regards to studying abroad, yes, it is great. I do agree. I never had a chance to study abroad. As for me it is great because it will greatly boost your employability once you finish your studies there and you will have a great variety of companies and organizations to work at. However, guys keep it in your mind that in EU, USA, Canada, Australia and Japan job market is very demanding. By this I mean that there are simply too many graduates looking for job and requirements are too high sometimes. So most of the people who study there prefer to go and work in developing countries like Russia, India, Brazil, China, Kazakhstan, Singapore and Middle East (All Gulf Arabic states).

If you prefer to study at WIUT, let's say, (not marketing) about 90 % of WIUT graduates usually find employment within 3 months after their graduation. If you want to see WIUT's employers list, just go to www.wiut.uz It is not my opinion, it is a fact. :--)))

  24. Akmal aka studying abroad have good advantages, one of them their diplomacy is a little bit higher than then our university, I mean students who graduated for example Oxford University has the biggest chance to find good job.

    ReplyDelete
  25. To Bobur
Well their diplomas not a lil bit higher; their diplomas much more higher than ours because they have international status. BUT our diplomas only local. Only university of Diplomacy and some universities have international status. Also Oxford university is the best university in the world and you can become a president easily. As far as I'm concerned my afghan friend told me that Afghanistan president graduated from Oxford.

    ReplyDelete
  26. I disagree with you Doston. I don't believe that if you graduate from Oxford University you can easily become a president. If you want to become a president there are a lot of things you need to do so that people will vote for you and elect you as a president. You don't want to say "Hey guys I graduated from Oxford this year so vote for me and make me yours president". You will have to work hard to show that you have a good knowledge, leadership skills and vision.

In 21 century it is not always knowledge that will take you to that career success you want to achieve. Leadership skills are also extremely important and valued especially these days.

In the long run nothing is achieved so easily in 21 century. So guys don't wait for things to come to you so easily in 21st century. You should definitely work hard and hard and never give up. It is from my own experience guys because I used to wait for the good time to come. Well, botton line is that GOOD TIMES never come. So act now!!!! :--))))

    ReplyDelete
  27. Well Mr.Akmal when I said about Oxford I don't mean that you become president suddenly. I mean that university has a great experience and they teach students very deeply.

For example, faculty of Economy. We study hear everything about economy and we definitely know how to cope with difficult situations. When we come back to hometown we begin to create new ideas and develop our country. Day by day people would know how we try to make more better for people. Eventually, on elections day people would vote for us.

It is not easy by the way. Everything depends on us. I wrote about becoming president because one of my friends told me about Afghanistan president who studied in Oxford and became president. Anyway it is possible to become president even we graduate local university.

Whereas studying abroad is something interesting for us. Maybe it is not so excellent as we dream =)))) Anyway I agree with your last comment. :-)

  28. Guys if it is interesting there will be "Open doors" in MDIS. 17-18 April, 10:00-17:00.

  30. This is my first time in your blog Akmal and must say it is a good chance for your students and other users to express their ideas in written form.

However, it looks like you guys forgot the topic and switched to another issue, LOL)))). Anyway, good for you Akmal.

Just to remind that before starting your essay you should always keep in mind what your argument is and work towards reaching what you want to convey in your message.

Good luck in essay writing to every future IELTS applicant.

    Amir.

  31. Oh cmon Ahmad are you going to go to MDIS to see its beauty??? :--))))

    ReplyDelete
  32. ^_^Yeah Akmal aka.Because I think it really courages me.If I don`t know why I`m studying I won`t be able to pass exam.So when I see this University I want to study. In my opinion every people should live with purpose and for me this purpose is entering MDIS))))
